【英文諺語】----Against the Odds
It means "notwithstanding the many opposing circumstances",
e.g. If a one-legged man who had never competed in a marathon in his life was running a race against able-bodied, two-legged professionals, you would say his hopes of winning the marathon were "against all odds".
e.g. Against all the odds, she conceived her first child at the age of 56.
e.g. He struggled against the odds to keep his business going during the recession. |
